Paris City Break Adventure
Paris, the City of Light, never disappoints! Amber from the frosch team recently embarked on a whirlwind city break to this magical destination, staying at the charming Hotel Royal Madeleine. Here’s a recap of her trip, packed with stunning sights, incredible food, and helpful tips for your own Parisian getaway.
Day One: Exploring the City and Iconic Landmarks
Amber kicked off her trip with a leisurely walk around the city, soaking in Paris’s breathtaking views and iconic architecture. First stop: the Louvre. As one of the world’s most famous museums, it’s an absolute must-visit. Amber recommends setting aside at least 3-4 hours to truly appreciate the art and history on display. Pro tip: visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid peak crowds. And don’t forget to eat beforehand, while the museum’s cafés are convenient, they’re quite pricey, and the food is just okay.
After the Louvre, it was time for a treat! Amber sought out Paris’s renowned hot chocolate at Café de Flore.
Thick, rich, and utterly delicious, this indulgence is not to be missed.
Next, Amber tackled the climb up the Arc de Triomphe. With its seemingly endless stairs, it’s not for the faint-hearted, but the panoramic views at the top are more than worth it. To end the day, she dined at Le Musset before heading back to the hotel for a quick reset. Dinner that evening was at Beefbar Paris, where the steak was out of this world and the mashed potatoes rivaled anything she’d had back in Ireland.
Day Two: Disneyland Magic
Day two was all about the magic of Disneyland Paris. After a hearty breakfast, Amber spent the entire day at the park, staying until 10 PM to catch the spectacular fireworks show. Her favourite ride? The Ratatouille attraction, a whimsical experience that truly captured the spirit of the beloved film. It was a day filled with joy and nostalgia, perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to embrace their inner child.
Day Three: Hidden Gems and Historic Marvels
On the final day of her Paris adventure, Amber explored a couple of spots that often get overlooked by tourists. First up was the Aquarium de Paris. Located near the Trocadéro, this underrated attraction was a delightful surprise. With its impressive marine life displays and peaceful ambiance, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Next, she visited Notre-Dame Cathedral, which has recently fully reopened to the public. The iconic landmark, with its stunning Gothic architecture and rich history, was a highlight of the trip. Walking through the beautifully restored interior and taking in the intricate details was a moving experience.
To round out the day, Amber strolled through the Tunnel des Tuileries. This unique pedestrian tunnel, adorned with vibrant street art, offered a different perspective on Paris’s creative and urban side. It was a perfect way to wind down her adventure, connecting the historic and modern aspects of the city in one walk.
