Malta Adventure with Aer Lingus: A Fam Trip to Remember

I had the pleasure of joining Aer Lingus and Visit Malta on an unforgettable Fam trip from the 3rd to the 5th. Here’s a glimpse into our packed itinerary, the incredible sights we saw, and the unique experiences that made this trip so special.

Day 1: A Warm Maltese Welcome

We touched down in Malta late in the afternoon, greeted by the lovely team from Zarb Chauffeur Ltd. They whisked us off to the Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa in St. Julian’s—a perfect blend of luxury and seaside charm. After a quick refresh, we strolled to Oka’s at the Villa, a stunning restaurant set in a historic 19th-century palazzo. With delicious food and warm hospitality from our hosts at the Malta Tourism Authority, it was the ideal start to our Maltese adventure.

Day 2: Gozo—The Tranquil Sister Island

Our second day was all about exploring Gozo, Malta’s serene and picturesque neighbour. A ferry ride across the Mediterranean set the tone for the day. Here’s what we got up to:

  • Ġgantija Temples: These UNESCO World Heritage sites amazed us with their megalithic grandeur and fascinating history.
  • Mixta Cave & Ramla Bay: The view from Mixta Cave over the red sands of Ramla Bay was simply breathtaking.
  • Rabat and the Citadel: Wandering through the fortified walls and ancient streets felt like stepping back in time.

Lunch at Qbajjar Restaurant treated us to fresh, local seafood paired with sweeping sea views. We rounded off our Gozo tour with a visit to the Blue Hole and Fungus Rock, iconic spots for nature lovers and divers alike.

Day 3: History and Charm in Malta

Our final day saw us delving into Malta’s rich history and vibrant culture:

  • Mdina, the Silent City: This enchanting town captivated us with its cobblestone streets and medieval charm.
  • Valletta: From the stunning views at the Upper Barrakka Gardens to the artistry of St. John’s Co-Cathedral, every corner of this UNESCO World Heritage city impressed us.

Lunch at Don Berto on the Birgu Waterfront was amazing.  We ended the day with a scenic drive through Marsaxlokk, the fishing village known for its colourful “luzzu” boats.
